EZY-FIT horseshoes are a range of urethane shoes designed by Eclipse Horseshoes, with the help of leading farrier's using the latest polyurethane materials and injection moulding manufacturing techniques, similar to those used in the current aircraft industry.
As light as aluminum yet twice as hardwearing, these horseshoes provide far better shock absorption to the horse than the traditional steel or aluminum shoe, which benefits the horses joints and reduces the possibilities of injuries.
The unique design of the EZY-FIT shoes incorporating a special steel insert, allows the shoe to be shaped and altered using an anvil or stall jack, to fit the individual horses foot.
EZY-FIT shoes can be nailed or glued on depending on the individual horses requirements. There is a large range of styles from the EZY-FIT Sport designed for the racing industry to the EZY-FIT HeartBar, a 'must have' for farrier's working on therapeutic cases.
If you have any questions regarding the EZY-FIT range of shoes or you are a supplier wishing to stock EZY-FIT shoes then please get in touch, we welcome all enquiries.
Designed as a therapeutic shoe, for laminitis, quarter cracks and hoof capsule support by mimicking the natural support system of the horses foot, these shoes are as light as aluminum, and have twice the wear properties of aluminum, whilst offering more shock absorption to the hoof capsule. The shoes come with side clips, a rolled toe and can be easily shaped due to the unique design of EZY-FIT shoes. As with all EZY-FIT shoes they can be nailed on, glued on or a combination of the two.
Designed with the thoroughbred horse in mind, these super lightweight shoes have twice the wear properties of aluminum. Fronts and hinds both come with toe clips, a recessed reinforcing bar to prevent the shoe spreading and can be easily shaped due to the unique design of EZY-FIT shoes. As with all EZY-FIT shoes they can be nailed on, glued on or a combination of the two. Approved by the British Horseracing Association.
It has a tensile strength of 8760lb per sq.inch and flexural modulus strength and impact rebound of up to 40%.
320% lighter than steel shoes of similar section.
15% lighter than Aluminium shoes.
Gives better shock absorption than either Steel or Aluminium shoes.
With huge reduction in concussion and vibration it helps prevent injuries to hoof and leg joints.
The special steel insert allows the shoe to be shaped to the horse and farriers requirements.
Can be fitted in the traditional manner by nailing on, or glued in place.
In normal conditions can last up to twice as long as Aluminium shoes.
Approved by the British Horse racing Association.

1. The horse's foot should be trimmed as normal and in therapeutic cases farrier's should consult with the veterinary surgeon.
2. The shoes should not be heated but can be shaped in the usual manner using an anvil or stall jack and hammer.
3. A recess for the clips can be let into the foot with a knife or a rasp, or they can be laid onto the hoof wall.
4. If the clips are not required they can be easily cut off using a pair of hoof cutters.
5. The shoes can be nailed on, and clenched up in the usual fashion.
6. To glue the shoes on, drill 5mmholes from the foot surface where the nail holes are located and continue the same spacing towards the heel.
7. Leaving the clips on will help locate the EZY-FIT heart bar shoe in the correct position on the foot. Apply the EZY-GLUE or Vettec Adhere to the foot surface of the shoe and apply to the foot.
8. Wrap the foot in cling film/quick wrap and leave to cure.
9. A combination of the two securing methods can also be used depending on the individual horses requirements.
Looking at the vertical maximum deceleration showed that steel shoes increased the high loading forces, while the urethane shoes provided slightly better shock absorbing properties than an unshod foot.
Comparing the results on 12 horses suggests that orthopedic injuries can be greatly minimized by using lightweight and slightly flexible shock absorbing urethane shoes. Joint diseases or injuries can be drastically reduced.
The study proves that this type of horseshoe reduced shock and vibration thus keeping the horse's locomotor apparatus sound and helps give a longer, healthy life.
"Having a light weight shoe that provides shock absorption, that can be easily altered, can only benefit the horse. The farriery industry has been crying out for a shoe like this"
Darren Bazin A.W.C.F, 3 x World Champion Farrier.
"Tried and tested on a Chestnut weak footed thoroughbred, during summer months, with great results! Where it was a problem keeping steel shoes on tight but urethane shoes stayed on tight for up to 7 weeks. Also due to lightness of the shoes only 4 nails had to be used in these weak feet to avoid any more imperforations to the hoof wall."
|"Tried and fitted on a laminitic pony.
Easy to fit and because of lightweight only needed a few nails in each side.
Owner and farrier both very happy. " Andrew Cooling DWCF. (See images below)
